Materials Innovation by Polymer Chemistry
Our research interests are focused on the design and synthesis of nanostructured polymeric materials and advanced functional materials via controlled radical polymerization and self-assembled systems. The prominent research areas of our group include the development of bio-based polymers derived from amino acids, opto-electronic polymers with well-defined architectures, ionic-liquid-based polymers for energy and environmental applications, and silsesquioxane-based organic–inorganic hybrids. We also focus on the development of novel approaches for controlled polymerization and precise polymer synthesis, both of which can be used to produce novel well-defined functional materials. By utilizing modern polymer synthesis techniques and self-assembly systems, we aim to explore next-generation polymeric materials that can contribute to innovation in the environmental, bio-related, optoelectronic, and energy sectors.
